Um guys, heating carcinogenic materials in the same microwave that the kiddies are warming their cereal in… is that a truly good idea?
Or are we all using a seperate microwave that no food is put in? I think that was one of the health boo-boos that a foam co. was getting in trouble for…
Carcinogenic? No. Read thehealth andsafety sheets. Skin alergic reactions: yes.
Using your wifes micro. Very bad idea.
A cheap micro cost what, $50 new these days? New one for the missis, old one goes in the shed.

Thanks for the stories / ideas . . . I won’t be microwaving (or if I am, just a few secs like Jim was saying).
Microwaving is bad in itself, it mods the molecules in food. Theres a hospital that did a blood transfusion and the nurse used a microwave to heat the blood. The patient died and the study they did, found the blood wasn’t recognized by the body . . .
I’m with you, Hiro. My family doesn’t have a microwave in the kitchen or the workshop. Scary zapping molecules aside, if I don’t understand it, I ain’t using it.
(I’m afraid of them.)

It just radiation. I wouldn’t like to be in a microwave, but as long as it stays there, it’s pretty safe.
What it can do is break up chains of protein into smaller molecules. That might be what happened to the blood, however it’s even more likely that every cell popped like a balloon. Really stupid thing to do regardless. Another thing, microwaves destroys the proteins in mothers milk(why do I have all this information in my brain?)

The worst epoxy exotherm I have had was when I mixed a four gallon bucket of epoxy at work and then
had to pull off the job.I was in a $8 million dollar house so I put the bucket in the back yard on a cement slab.
It was already smoking so I poked some holes in the lid.It rained all afternoon. When I came back five hours later
and checked on it the bucket was still hot.The concrete slab was completely dry from the heat.
Good times,
Ian
If you do a carne asada and green chili burrito afterwards, it neutralizes the effects of the epoxy, almost like oven cleaner
Good to see that everyone is taking precautions with resins.
I wouldnt stake my kids life on the info on a manufacturers safety sheet , even tho chemical companies never make a mistake…
The residue stays in the microwaves internals and cant be thoroughly removed. The chance of birth deformities, early cancers etc are just too scary to risk it.
Sorry for the downer, but if 1 person gets the idea its worth it.
add heat to an xothermic reaction going in?
accelerating the iniation of reaction decreasing work time?
in favor of?
what cure time?
I suspect this aint rr epoxy?
I have only been training with rr.
the eplowsive nature of his stuff leads me to suspecy such cavaleir handling of the stuff could prove…disruptive.
bless the cause of people inna cold place.

reheating carcinogens to high amplitude ricochet molecules
goes good with safeway pumpkin soup.
You could always throw lokboxes in. They will eliminate all that melted area due the footprint(size) of the routed hole. ask Gary Linden. I saved his ass (well his board) one day like that. It was an EPS core with vaneer wood skin and he accidently used poly to install the FCS plugs. Woops. He called in a panic. When I got there the foam was still melting outwards. Got it in the nick of time. 5 mintues later and he woulda had to call speeedfins or Clyde at Edge fin system. Lol
I’ve used Edge fins and Clyde is a great person. At least he gives me feed back on things I send him ,unlike some fin makers I know…LMAO !
In my life, I’ve been in many bar/pool/skatepark/jungle/surf brawls…I’m always the one left standing calling for more !(Kokua/Epac/brose/Paul J… WILL LOVE THIS !)
Want a shot at the title?
Hey Lox, I saw one of those Linden boards in Surfride, a Linden. I thought it was balsa, until your post told a little about how it was made . . . (but Jim P has made super light balsas like that), it was a 6 foot shortie thruster.
Herb, are those edge fins the free diving ones or the sponge / body surf ones? If so, how do those compare to UDT’s ? I like my UDT’s, they are awesome.
To keep it on topic I’ve got some RR on order . . .
Surfboard fins that rotate so you can change the cant in the fin position.
I put in another set of FCS plugs last night. Came ot great. No disaster. I used a heat gun to make the resin start to run and ice packs. Instead of 5 minutes to kick smoking hot, it took about and hour and a half. Nice and cold. Thanks for the help!
