Epoxy Pigment (Old School - Pistachio)

Hey all,

2 part question as I’m planning to shape my wife a noserider this weekend.

  1. What brand of epoxy pigment would you guys suggest?

  2. What mixture will get me that old school pistachio look?

I’ve attached some pics for the general color I’m looking for.

Thanks

That is a green tint on that Harbou.  Most likely that fluorescent Green that Fiberglass Hawaii sells.  The Harbour is a Poly, so don’t expect the color to be the same in Epoxy.  Call Fiberglass Hawaii in Ventura/Oxnard.  They have the best selection of Tints and Pigments of any supply shop.  Lowel

I do that color by starting with (Fiberglass Hawaii pigments) yellow add a dab of blue and a lot of white. Mix it really good then adjust. Too blue add a dab of yellow, too dark a dab of white.

Yellow and blue make green, adding the white lightens it. You could do it with green and white too. I don’t have green right now.

I got the color on the fishboard pictured by mixing white / green pigments and Q-CEL and did a foam stain.  I wanted to seal and color the blank at the same time.
