Epoxy repair of water damage/delamination

Hello all,

I have a question about repairing an epoxy board (Boardworks sandwich construction). The board has some delamination on the deck due to water damage. Should the water be vacuumed out or will letting it air dry work just as well? I love the way this board rides but If it's not possible to restore this board adequately then I'll start saving for a new one.

If anyone has any comments I would greatly appreciate it.

If you have a vacuum pump, use it to suck out the majorty of the water then air dry once the vacuum pump can't suck out any more water.   I usually stick couple paper towel into the foam and point the open toward the ground.  Gravity and paper towel will help wick the remainder of the moisture out.  you can't get all the water out but you can get close to it but it will take couple weeks to get it almost dry.  also if it have a vent, open it up when you are vacuuming the water, it will help with air flow. if not, drill a hole in the opposite direction or plan to add a vent on it somewhere since you will need a vent to help vacuum the water out.

To fix the delam, use two part expanding foam and inject into the delam area. dont use epoxy it doesnt work and it will just heat up/melt the soft internal eps foam.

Go to boardlady.com for how to fix delam and why epoxy wont work to fix delam.
