Not all alcohols are created equal. If you are going to use alcohol to clean any work it should be denatured alcohol. I thought this was common knowledge?

......Wow......
I do Acrylic Pin lines over sanded RR epoxy and then gloss them with RR epoxy. They don't always come out perfect. I have a handful of little tricks...The bigest trick being Clean Hands.....also keep in mind that Greg L has covered the fact that RR and Acrylic paint have wierd bonding issues.....
....and looking at the first photo....What's the Sport Coat for?
Stingray
Thats my glassing jacket - i like to be smart for a special occasion.
Stingray - when you make your pinlines on the sanded RR, what process do you do?
Mask up, then how do you apply the paint? Do you thin it down at all? Do you wipe it flat? And do you sand it down after its dried?
Mike
A Glassing Jacket. I like that.
I sand the hot coat. Clean everything up. Mask. And spray water based acrylic paint that has been thined out with distilled water. I use a small airbrush. I do several light coats. I have a big bag of tricks. Most of my tricks are based on Temp, air movement and clean working space. Clean hands too.....It can be done but you're asking for problems. I could never make a living dong this...........too much time, too many things can go wrong....
Ray

And one more thing.....
It takes big balls to post a screw up on Sways and hope for the best.

There's 1500 lurkers learning from you right now....:)
Okay I’m about to do the same thing, acrylic water based spray paint or paint pen on RR epoxy hot coat, and it’s a twin fin so I have to gloss it with RR. So what’s the magical formula for it to come out RIGHT?? Did I mention I’m pin lining b/w texalium and carbon?? Tips??

Paint jobs on twin fins always come out better. There's some wierd Twin Mojo going on around here.....never ever try this with a quad. Did I mention I own a Magic board?.....It's not painted but the tail block gives me extra boost in my turns.

Hahaha…ass.

I went surfing today with my buddy Holden. The guy is a legend. Great surfer and he rides a Stingray surfboard . Holden pulled off a perfect One Legged Flanagan right in front of Ted's house. Unreal......
I'm a legend in my own mind.....have fun.......
...Stingray........
thanks for the help guys - it`ll help out ALOT with my next board!
i managed to finish the board off and took it out yesterday and i was quite pleased with. First time i `ve kited with a surfboard strapless in the the waves - definitely the way forward, just need to learn how to gybe it now!
i polished the bottom and fins up a bit and just waxed the top as i wanted to get it out on the water - here`s a couple of pics.
Im going to make a slightly longer fish next time that i can use for surfing aswell as kiting next time. think ill just do a simple resin tint on the whole board - may attempt another pinline if i`m feeling brave!
ps - i quite like the mistake on the bottom where the resin soaked into the foam where i poured it on!
