EPS 1st board.... took a chunk outta rail... WHAT TO DO??? please help

I am a first time shaper… I am attempting a single fin egg, similar to the one in the 1977 SUrfboard Design pdf. ANyways… I took a good size chuck out of my rail when cutting my profile. It is on the bottom rail, and cuts in about half an inch. It is located near the wide point and i need to fill it in.

My question is… SHould i just gorilla glue or epoxy back on a chunk of eps… then reshape the area. OR should i just fill it in with epoxy and filler???

Im kinda bumbed out about it… because everything else has gone fairly smooth so far. I cannot thank all of you enough, i have already learned so much from the forums here. I would really appreciate any input on the subject thanks guys

oh yeah, im using RR if that makes a diffence… ANd a MARKO blank… #2 (or 1.9 whatev). thanks

Sand out the chunk so a piece of scrap can be fit in nicely. Square it out? Preshape the scrap to fit in. Sparingly use the Gorilla Glue (it expands). Blue tape it in place to dry. Shape to blend nicely with the rail/bottom.

I had a similar situation and this worked out for me. Good luck!

What kind of saw were you using to cut with? Bummer. Nice weather you got there though! Looks like a nice place to work on a board.
