Yeah, the Clark situation sucks and I was a bit depressed today, but hey, it’s time to move on. Thanks rolliges for reposting the primer. The first time it was posted I remember thinking “yeah, I’m going to do this!” But man, the Clark blanks were so convenient and safe that I lost my motivation. Now I don’t have that crutch! Its time to move on, get into the 21st century! I’ve revisited my notes from research on Swaylocks and I’m ready to get into eps/epoxy. So, does anyone have any recomendations for a source of eps blanks in Hawaii? A Home Depot was just opened here in Hilo and they have sheets of eps but I dont want to have to go that route unless there is no other alternative.
I am not sure of the Big Island but on Oahu we buy blocks of EPS from Pacific
Allied Products. Give them a call perhaps they have an outlet there.

Sfoam is a supplier, but they are only servicing pre-existing customers for the moment.
Segway Composites, who make hollow carbon fiber boards, also have some eps blanks.
talk to customer service about ordering bulk EPS… they sell whole blocks of EPS from “insulfoam”… youd have to cut the blanks out using a hotwire… but thats an option…
I lived on the Big Island 10 years ago and couldn’t find big blocks at that time but there was a place in Hilo (can’t remember the name) that sold concrete supplies that carried pretty big sheets. I used to buy 12’ x 4’ x 6". Hope that helps.
12’ x 4’ x 6" ? That’s enough for one a them fishing boards, right there!
If you can find pieces like that, you’re golden. That would net, without gluing, 4 longboards up to 12’ each. Or 8 6’ fish & chips.
