Well, the wood glue lost half it’s weight after being baked most of the day. I have no idea how that translates to the layer inbetween two pieces of eps, but it makes me feel better about how much I had to use.
Greg–it seems to me that using the high impact epoxy to bond two sheets of eps might be better than the high modulus stuff. More flexible…?
Thanks for all the links and such.
Hi Peter Billet was clean with no holes or corner missing.I was able to hot wire my first blank and use the out side for the center. As in Gregs post.If you order one ask them to wrap it.That should keep all the truck dirt off it.Foam was made in a Endro press and all beads are the same size. Gordon
Greg with PVC what kind of glue should I use gluing up a blank. I’m using 1 1/2 lb. EPS should I use 3 mil.? I’ve been cutting stringers from 3/8 and 1/4 " plywood. Is the weight about the same? Have you used PVC in T bands. Thanks Gordon
Epoxy works fine for glue up. For wood stringers you can use Elmers. PVC we also use Roo Glue but in Oregon this will be painfully slow. I’d use epoxy. We have done T Bands with different color PVC. Weight starts to add up but it sure looks cool.
