eps polution issue

ihave concern about eps and the way to fabricate it.

i visited a eps factory and they had tons of small bubble ready to go in a huge oven to become a massive block of eps.

what i am wondering is the oven uses a lot of electricity, wich is a lso a cause of polution and those little foam balls ready to be melt in a block are they toxic?? u have to look at it this way. pollution is energy, if you use way more energy making polysterene its maybe not all that green…

i have been working with epoxy, and since then i saw 2 people with massive allergy attack, rashes and they could never come back to work.

with polyester you can always clean your body with different cleans juices and different cleaning process but with epoxy, u are screw, this stuff stay in your organism for ever and once your develop an allergy its over… this stuff is hardcore.

polyester or epoxy both have their downfall but please dont say that you are making a green board because u use epoxy and polystyrene… that aint true.

like i said about in another post i have a model with salomon, i do sandwich like bert and also normal eps lay up and classic polyester. 25 % of the production is epoxy so i know a bit about it and its not the dream come true. its hard to work with, the sanding suck and the board look not as good when they are done.

i am not against epoxy but dont chuck all your polyester hope because the polyester world was pretty cool,

the control we have with the resin is awesome. the epoxy need a better temp control and if too cold it will not dry, will be harder to sand.

uv resin doesnt need all that, cold or not it works…

take care,
