EPS question

I am going to start shaping my first EPS blank tomorrow. I don’t remember seeing this on the forum so here is my question. Is it necessary to spackle the blank before it is epoxied? I don’t want to paint it, just to add my logo to the bottom.

Thanks

Search EPS and spackle. Should get soem results.

Barring that, and I am no expert, depends. If you’re using anything lighter than 2#, then yes. Unless you’re vacuum baggin it. In which case no. There are other alternatives to spackle also…it’s in the archives somewhere.

I do use spackle on most foams. I’ve even used it on light urethanes. It’s good anytime foam is porous. For EPS foam of 2.5 and above, sealing isn’t nessasary. 2.0 and below I like to seal. Just makes the board easier to make and the results are better.

Thanks for your view! We appreciate it.

Thanks for the input. I guess since I spacklle I might as well paint too.
