EPS stringerless retro fish

[=1][ 3]EPS stringerless retro fish[/] [/] Edit | Delete | Quote | Reply Well here it goes, I’ve got my foam from Home depot along with some glue and the Lis 5’5" dimensions. This is my second board I will be shaping, the first was a copy of Al Merricks MSFG2 and although it is not pretty (I tried to airbrush the foam) it rides like a dream. For this next board I am going for the cheapest and easiest board possible, the retro fish. Right know I am working on the template I am taking the Lis 5’5" dimensions and stretching it to 5’8" as I am 6ft 200lbs and 25 years old and think the 5’5" may be a little short. I’ll tell you all how it goes along with pictures as soon as I have enough material to share. Also, how long do I have to let the glued blank set before I can shape the board with the rocker in it?

I’m 25 years old and originally from Iowa, yea can you believe it? I know go to school at Cal Poly Pomona and will graduate in a week or two. I just finished a copy of Al Merricks MSFG2. It was the first board I ever attempted and I couldn’t believe how well it rode. I typically ride a short thruster but now I’m all retro!

Can you say that again? I didn’t get it the first or the second time around.

Elmers, one full week.

Epoxy, one full day.

Whatcha use to glue up the layers?

Can we can the "retro " crap! That sounds so stupid. It sounds like a fashion statement or something??The fish is an excellent design that can be ridden well by a few…

Yup,its official…eps stringerless fish(beat to death…rip…) and of course “retro”…(beat to death…rip…)…have fun…

  • no more retro jethros…umm kay???

Your glue will be fine in about 2 days no matter what kind you use. Have fun with it!

Sorry about the double post thing, dont know what happened. Also, I didn’t think the Lis Fish was such a fad, how many due you see in the line-up? I take it this thread should end?
