EPS -vs-Poly -vs- EPS Parabolic

My next material test on the drawing board. Just waiting for the weather to get a bit dryer & warmer to laminate.

Submitted for your viewing pleasure a newly carved EPS #2 parabolic stringer from under Resinheads Magnolia tree. Blank from Ken at Segway LD-04-8’0" Almost the same as the other 2, but this one’s a bit thicker in the middle 2 3/4. #2 EPS rail and mid section, 2 mil Black PVC stringers.

The other board in the middle is the now broken 3 times majic stick. Soon to be recycled into a chair or something…Or maybe fixed reglassed to ride again? It is a wonderful beastly rocket

The Swirl board is the one that started the test. It is still in one piece, no cracks, few presure dings, and still being ridden

Shaping out of my comfort zone with the parabolic, but fun. Took a bit longer to shape than expected …Need to keep up with the stringers after every sanding pass or you will get some chunky funky rails. Nothing like foam, stringer, foam on the rails.

Ken at Segway was super helpful getting me lined up with the right materials. He’s a solid guy that will take the time to make sure you have everything you need. I couldn’t have imagined trying to make this blank without his help? If you guys are into this EPS stuff he’s a great resource and has worked through a lot of problems that other guys are still trying to figure out. A no brainer in my book.

Anyway, more and better info once I get a chance to ride it, hopefully durability will increase with added performance??..The test continues.

sweet sticks there mate

I got a parabolic blank from Ken last spring and because of my job this summer wasn’t able to finish until the fall and the weather became to cold to glass. I am waiting for it get warm so i can glass. Anyway looks like the problems I had with my blank have been rectified.

Oh yea, Ken is great guy and makes a great product good to see him getting more business.

I wanted to chime in and concur with all the positive things said about Ken E. He has been very gracious in all my dealings with him.

Regards, Tony.

I just want to chime in with praise for Ken at Segway. He went way out of his way (literally) to make sure I got the exact product I wanted. Very helpful and highly recommended.

While it is quite humbling, and I do appreciate the positive comments, it is the responsibility of all vendors to provide what the customer wants or requires. It’s my job! I have to say however, that I enjoy the interactions with all the people I have been able to meet in the process and am honored and enriched as well.

Having said all that stuff, I am more interested in the outcome of Jay’s new board!

Your honored servant…

Ken

So Jay…

When is it going to be in the water? How long for the performance feedback?
