eps#

eps blank 2inch thick by 4foot by 8foot sheet r-value 8 =1lb or 1.5lb or 2lb?

If the R-value for 2" thick is 8 then the R-factor is 8/2 = 4

This corresponds to EPS just over 1.25lb/cubic ft according to http://www.epsmolders.org/4-rval.html

and also

Quote:

RayLite (1.0 pcf) provides a typical R-value of 3.85 per inch

and

Quote:

EPS insulation (1.0 pcf) provides a typical R-value of 3.85 per inch (k-factor = 0.26) at mean temperature of 75° F, and a typical R-value of 4.17 per inch (k-factor = 0.24) at a mean temperature of 40° F. R-value means the resistance to heat flow

so I would say not much more than 1 lb/cubic ft

all the HD/Lowe’s eps is 1#…they can custom order a higher density block from insulfoam…but you’ll need to tell them exactly what you want
