eskimo blanks stringerless...??

Hey guys, got a question about some blanks i just got today. They are eskimo foam pu blanks, but they seem to have been cut and glued with like a 2mil stringer, which it looks as thouh has only been glued in for the purpose of creating rocker in the blanks, my question is … if i am to use these as is,will i need to use carbon rail tape or something inplace of a proper stringer or are these meant to be shaped and glassed as is?? i am going to contact shapers tomorrow and see what they suggest, but i always prefer the info i get from people on this site! cheers people.

I’m lost.  Why isn’t a 2 mm stringer proper?

Alright i guess that answers my question, its just so thin and id never seen one like it before… like i tiny slither of ply.

Its nearly invisible.

2 mm isn’t that thin.  And just to have a little fun with you, snakes slither, wood slivers = )

lol ok well il go ahead with it and maybe post a pic to show you’s when its shaped.

Hey mate Eskimo is made in china and owned by Maquarie Bank, if you care about buying Australian made products that aren’t owned by corporate banks get your self a Bennetts, Surfblanks or a Burford if you’re up north.

Yeah marsh i kinda wondered about that, cause when i looked them up they said they had a factory in southern nsw, then i noticed this was back in 2010… these blanks just got given to me by a friend who has a wharehouse full of em,they were poured in 2008 and they are slightly discoloured on the shell.I shaped one yesterday and after only ever using  southcoast foam blanks before,i gotta say these feel pretty shit to shape. The glue either side of whats supposed to be the stringer is actually wider than the stringer itself…  I live just south of tweedheads so southcoast foam and fibreglass is the best place for me to get blanks and supplys.
