evercoat polyester lam resin then silmar sandcoat?

Question to those in the know…I have some evercoat laminating resin leftover from a boat repair job I did recently. I was wondering if there was any drawbacks to using the stuff to laminate a board I’m working on. I would then go back to the silmar and do the sanding coat. I don’t see myself ever using the stuff again and I hate to have the stuff go to waste. I realize there would probably be some yellowing, but my plan was to paint on the sanding coat so that isn’t an issue. Any drawbacks to using this stuff?

Thanks in advance!

Nothing wrong with the Evercoat resin, it’s just not up to the super clear standards of Silmar. Your plan will work or you might consider pigmenting the Evercoat. You could tint it yellow or some shade in that range or go to an opaque color, use white pigment to give you the opacity of whatever color you choose. (P.S. the Evercoat pigments are dogs, try to find some better quality from a surfboard supply)
