You have to specify tolerances when you order a board! Did you think the board would come out to 5 foot 10.000000"? nothing ever comes out perfect. I think 3/4" on the length isn’t a big deal at all. I’m sure he could add a bit of glass on the tip of the nose if you like. Or try measuring it on a really hot day, maybee it will expand to the right size. The width is off a bit more than I would be happy with, but if you didn’t specify tolerances you have no solid case in the court of law.
everyone needs some give and take within reason. If your 5’8" turns out 5’7&63/64. so be it . but if your stick comes back completely wrong tell him where to put it . If you order a 7’0’’ bali board and get a mini mal go off, the shaper hasn’t done his job. I was at a factory in byron and a guy wouldn’t take his new 9’6’’ because it wasn’t the right blue. You work hard for your money don’t give it a way.
the template hanging on the wall is 7’-6, but because of nose flip, the board measured in a straight line from tip to tail is maybe 3/4" shorter
I had a 99cent measuring tape from the flea market that was off 1.5 inches over a span of 8feet.A lot of my customers got “more” board than they asked for.I shaped a 6footer for a friend and he told me it was 6’1"(which it was).In the end I made him buy me lunch because he got more board for his money and the extra one inch of labor was at least ten bucks. measure your board again, the length over the bottom from tail to nose and the width using a square edge. Ignoring the stringer. Good chance that you find some of the missing data.
