Fabucor

Anyone know anything about the Fabucor used in the new NSP’s?

‘fabucor’?

sounds like not-so-clever marketing terminology…

proly just pvc foam…I could proly tell you which kind by looking at the color…ha!

im fairly certain its not so fabulous

Surftech (both Southpoint and Surftech are affiliated with Cobra International) has announced a new EPS core… “Techlite”

Sounds like maybe they’ve shifted to a higher density/smaller bead EPS and given it a fancy name?

That would make them heavier and stiffer - they need to go lighter and more flexy. A bigger better fused bead maybe?

I thought the same thing but I think I’ve seen fabucor mention with golf clubs / tennis rackets. I think it’s a trademarked material.

yeah I doubt it Waahoo…if you cant find it on google it likely doesnt exist…

There are sensi-core metal golf shafts (quasi-scam - the foam core does not allow you to play better - but thats ALWAYS the claim)

which reminds me…wrt golf clubs…there are more scams in that industry than in the snake oil industry…ha!

I get a kick out it tho…I saw a commercial on TV about a necklace you wear that helps you play better!

Only three easy payments of $29.99

Gotta love marketing!

True innovation is rare, so for profit commerial entities have to resort to cheap, easy and effective tactics. A classic is the “New and Improved” label…very cheap and very effective.

fabucor…techlite…whatever

less than 10% innovation, and over 90% marketing

hows the quote go: ‘no one ever went broke under-estimating the intelligence of the people’

I find it all so entertaining! Seriously. Maybe I should write a book on the subject…“Marketing Tricks for Dummies”…man now THAT would sell huh?

Cheers

The boxes have bottles in 'em full of oil.

every fabucor search I do leads to the NSP surfboard . . . the closest is a type of fiberglass they are using.

Maybe its just S with epoxy. But its trademarked but no company has it claimed. I could search patents, but nah . . . better things to do . . .

If you google “Fabucor -nsp” (the “-nsp” filters out the NSP links) you get 55 results. And all of them are about NSP boards, form the look of it.

They’ve probably given an existing material (or slight variation thereof) a different name.

Brilliant!

That dude is learning fast.

I wonder what the microphone is for?

There’s a real funny caption in there somewhere but Im off form and drawing a serious blank :frowning:

Anyone?

That dude is learning fast.

Gggzzzttt!

No idea why it’s funny…
