Fat Penguin ??'s

How much for one arund 6’4" or so? and do they do well in the tube?

James Im not selling boards to any of the guys who ask through this forum, Im only sharing information. If you wish to know about FP start a thread and it will hijacked, I belive they are just trying to help the unknowledgeable so as they dont get ripped by US. You are the master of the house you make your own mind up. Its good to see such commradery amongst individualls. Oh wait up thats right individualls have independent thoughts, I think Ive wondered in to a hive… The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each others life. Rarely do members of one family grow up under the same roof… Penguins are surfboards and they will perform as well as any comparable board. http://www.geocities.com/wunderboyi/ninetysixpercent.html

i think you’ve finally got it …congratulations and good luck on your personal evolution looking forward to hearing about your next wave …and jubilation derived from the pure experience of the blessings of this blessed water planet …I saw Boogie Kalama body surf on his back to retrieve his lost board at hanalei one time and nobody else saw it but me because we were up the point and way inside I was impressed and honored to see such…ambrose…nice wave

Paul, I’m sure your design has its merits, and your research to arrive at this design seems thorough and commendable. I’m sure the FP would perform like any other board, given the chance. However, your choice, if it was your choice, of spokesperson in this forum may have done your design more harm than good. I hope you can clear things up for the forum participants who are interested in progressive, alternative, and open-minded design discussion. Sincerely, Greg.

Im not worried…We have been at this for a while talking to people at the beaches and other shapers…We more often than not experience a non hesitant reaction and I just put it down to “New kid in the street syndrome” I have always been a little louder than the other kids, and know how to stick up for myself, these people are quite within their rights to express themselves anyway they wish, although they are somewhat biased…I dont hold it against anyone… I just feel Ive conducted myself in a reasonable manner on most occasions… Cheers. TE the honorable martyr, ever selfless and introspective. I guess the mark of a good snake oil salesman is persistance and adaptibility.

Paulson : you-da-man!

Hey mPaulson, tell me did you buy a bottle of snake oil? I bet you did and you just cant live it down… brother…Leave the snake oil alone dude its not good for you… Try ginko or wormwood, gives you a good woody! http://www.geocities.com/wunderboyi/ninetysixpercent.html

GW I have to censor Paul because of the idiotic replys that fly around…He is a serious Man ! And he knows his boards. Paul Cole built his first board at the age of 14 at home in the backyard in the sun. It was a 7’4" diamond tail that was 19 1/2" wide. This was considered short and radical at the time. Then Paul got orders for 12 of these boards from friends at school. He charged $120(1966). Without outside help he accomplished this, a very fast learning curve. At this same time Paul noticed a friend standing up on a 6’4" Scott Dillon twin fin belly board with flippers on at Cronulla Point.(1966) This event insprired Paul to experiment with short boards. After 4 years of building boards at home “Bobby Brown” landed Paul a job with “Gordon and Smith”. Pauls first commercial success was with a 7’6" Pin Nosed rounded pintail (chrome yellow) this boards template shape was taken from a “Spit Fire” wing chord, it generated 300 orders that summer a short board at the time was 9’2". At this time Paul parents where discusted with him for leaving Quantas Airline, after winning a position there out 15,000 people. He was one of thirty that were selected to train as “Flight Engineers” for the new Jumbo Jets.(1969) 1970 Paul started to work for “Gordon and Smith”+ Surfboards Australia for Larry Gordon and Floyd Smith it then changed ownership to Terry Hamill and then things got realy interesting. It gave Paul his own head to pursue short board design as Terry Paul free materials once a month to experiment with. A List of experimental boards. Midget Farrely - side slipper Dave Nuiva - short twin fins High Speed Pintail bells beach (it went to fast) Diamond tails Fish Tails Offset tails V-bottoms and concaves Hard rails, tail lift. This basicly went on for four years of research. Giving Paul a depth of knowledge of how things worked. 1974 Paul designed a custom shape for Tom Carrol. Early years Pro circuit. 1974 - 75 G&S was sold to investors who then instructed Paul to shape nothing else but this design,he soon left (boredom). Pauls next job was designing and track testing extractors for cars and bikes (1975). Lots more story to go, be in touch ! http://www.geocities.com/wunderboyi/ninetysixpercent.html

TE, Good stuff, this sort of info is what people like me want to know. Pity Paul can’t speak for himself. If you continue the discussion in this way I’m sure more people will appreciate it. Stick to the journey, not the destination. We will all be happy. Greg.

I’ve tried absinth, thats made with worm wood. It just gave me a horrible headache. Halcyn’s right i should’nt comment on TE or his manners, its becoming old i guess, and such comments only contributed to the muck pile.

Ohh crap, now i get it, halcyn thought i bought a bottle (FP). All my boards recently are scavanged from garage sales, thrift stores, friends and back yards. For 1500$ i could get a couple of toby fishes and a whole slew of fixer uppers, i’m not into just one feeling. Even if i did buy one, i dont think i could live it up to tell anyone, unless the bugger cost like 1/3 the price, then things would be halfway reasonable. Ps any one else have their eye on that blue pintail infront of pleasure pizza on mission(sc). Well , i call dibs.

Cheers ! http://www.geocities.com/wunderboyi/ninetysixpercent.html
