fcs basics

Almost done my first board, and I’m using the fcs system. To save money I skimped on the fcs install kit (only bought the hole saw). I was hoping for a beginning-to-end-type explanation to havng them come out decent. I’ve read all of the threads I could find, but the kits (from www.fiberglassupply.com) contained materials not mentioned in the discussions (i.e. little zig-zag one-side sticky pieces of foam). Hope someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks for any help!

A bout a month or 2 maybe I explained in depth how to do FCS without the kit step by step and what tools

You have made it harder for yourself not getting the whole kit. I haven’t read F1’s post but I’ll assume he has everything covered. The one tip I’d give is get a plastic sauce (you guys prob call it ketchup) bottle that you turn upside down and squeeze out the sauce. I was shown how to do them by a guy without the full kit and he poured the resin into the holes from his 500ml container. It is sooooo much easier using the plastic squeeze bottles like the ones that come with the kit.

Howzit bish, after using the squeeze bottle for 6 years, I got tired of always having to clean the bottle, Now I just put the mix in a 6oz paper cop and pour from it and toss it. Works fine and saves acetone. Aloha, Kokua

Check out the FCS Install Manual on our website http://www.foamez.com/cats_manuals/ , it explains the installation process thoroughly.

Good luck!

Fair enough too, mate. I like using the bottle because I find it easier to squeeze directly into the hole around the plugs. As soon as I finish, I squeeze the rest out and rinse the bottle in my dirty acetone container, which is already waiting. If I did it as often as you, I might well end up with the same solution.
