FCS fins with "proteck" leading edges!

I was just wondering if any of you folks - with good industry ties - know the reason that proteck fins are not available in FCS “format”…(look at me, all “high-tech” with the lingo!). I’ve used the earlier glass-on proteck fins, the kind you actually had to foil down to get to the (creamy nougat center) rubberized leading edge. I love how the damn things ride. nice, “lively” and smooth turns. You can really FEEL the fins. What you all think? Sure, I’ll ask surfco, but I wanna hit up the bros, first. Laters, T.

Surfco used to market Protek fins to fit FCS in the US. But, Dave told me that FCS sued them and they had to take them off the market. We licensed Surfco to make Red X Fins because we thought that we would be negligent if we did not allow for a safety edge option for our fin system. Since Surfco already had a patent for a technology that works reasonably well. We figured we would let them do what they do best and we would do the same. They are also available for LockBox, Future & O’Fish’l.

HOLY COW…! That is certainly the quickest response I’ve ever gotten…Thanks, Tom, I really appreciate the straight story! MAHALO, nui! Tom.

Tom, I just got back from ASR and ran into Dave there. He tells me that they just won their law suit against FCS. So, Protek will be available in an FCS format by the end of the year.

Right on, right on!!! thanks for your help; T.
