FCS fins

I am having problems getting my FCS (g5’s) fins into there boxes what can i do? They refuse to go all the way in cleanly and i don’t want to slam down on them and damage the board. Please help!!

sandpaper.

you will need one of the following:

grind wheel, sand paper, rubber mallet

to do one of the following:

make the holes bigger, make the tabs smaller, do some pounding.

Howzit shakysworld, When you did the plug installation did you tighten the screws into the jigs and let the resin cool before taking the jigs out? If not that is why you are having problems since the kicking resin makes the holes shrink a little but enough to keep the fins from going into the plugs. My technique was to do plug installs the last thing of the day and let them set over night, plus you need to put damp sponges or towels where the circles on the deck are.Aloha,Kokua

i’ve found that sanding the front (leading edge) of the fin tabs at a 45 degree angle facilitates installation under the circumstances u mention. and that’s what the manufacturer recommends. sometimes i’ve had to sand, well, quite a bit off.

the problem seems to be due to early removal of the fin jigs, as others have mentioned previously.
