FCS FUSION fin routing disaster I think Help!

I just did a fusion plug install. I think I routed it a little to deep. When I put the fins on the trailing edge hits the board and dosn’t go all the way in the plugs its just alittle bit out of the plugs. What can I do to fix that. I was thinking of sanding the board down just a little bit where the trailing fin can’t go all da way down or adding some fiberglass down in the hole were the plug goes in to make it higher. Help me plz. Thanks alot guyz.

Just trim off the bottom of the fin a bit so the tabs are longer and they reach into the box properly with the fin clearing the board. I wouldn’t sand the board more. It will likely be too weak if you do.

This may leave the fins unsuitable for use on other boards unless you also trim off the bottoms of the tabs some.

Work is small amounts, don’t over do it.

SLBadboy,

Not clear if you have you installed the boxes, and or glassed the board yet. If you have not installed the boxes glue some scrap foam in the shape of the fusion box in the hole and route again to the proper depth. Use the jig to trace the outline of the insert. If you have glassed the board you could route the boxes out and put in new ones. Good luck.
