Wow , hearing some rad rumours re Bryant and staff of FCS USA going missing.
Also Aussie flown in to run USA at expense of San Diego boys.
Surely can’t be true? Bryant sold his sole for the Bankers, headed up the Poss’e.
Rock around my freakin block, just when I thought it was safe…now i may have some aussie dude (crocodile dundee) style with a big knife, or very sharp fin, after me !!
fcs new zealand are great to deal with and im very happy with ther products and service. loving the fusion boxes for a strong and easy install. im a bit bummed you are having issues over there mate.
i do my fusion installs afterlam and before hotcoat, just with some 4 oz patches over them. no probs with bubbles and the polycarbonate router install jig is great. my only gripe is they should have a router jig for the the leash plug as well
and also have a 7 degree box.
i guess we all have different attitudes and relationships and policitcal views.
personally i really like the way fcs provide good product catlogues and allow for good margins. i just got a hood and some 7mm booties and they are very good qaulity and reasonably priced.
whatever problems you are having with individuals in fcs management doesnt/shouldnt really reflect on the products or distributors of these products.
a month ago i met a fella who does fcs installs for merricks glass house and he didnt know anything much about fusion. he hadnt seen the lovely router jig or anything else. i found this quite surpizing
Sounds like new Zealand must be a bigger market than i thought for FCS as they seem to be really looking after you guys down there.
Maybe they could send a Kiwi on a trip or two to help out at Merricks and if it’s true that staff got shown the door then a few big Kiwis would "plug’ the hole.
Anyway, have never ever seen a fusion box in one board at any surf break and I have not seen or heard of one pro using it. Bit of a mystery product it seems.
maybe they want to test them thoroughly first and kiwis have a rep for busting out plugs. my friends all do even with a h pattern bond. yeah this guy was saying he get 4$ or something to install a plug and he didnt even have a h pattern tool with a handle on it. he was an unreal longboarder and pretty good shoartboarder and stayed in napier for about a week to catch some small point waves.we took him out to a secret spot with a mate .the surf was pretty junk but clean and headhigh reef. he was pretty stoked with no crowds. not at all a bad guy for a seppo
yes but he had never seen the fusion box. they are better imo other then the potential HINGE effect from using caped boxes. but they have a very small footprint and allow for a very thin tail and the install is so fcking simple.
if there are any jobs going over there i could do with a working holiday. anyone need a opinionated ,emotional wreck thats always late and chucking sickies to catch a swell. happy to flogoff as much (insert brand here) product you can lay on me. flogging off is my specialty
offshore. you can get fcs from HYdrosurf in dunedin and the owner is katherine greer. she is a good person . if you want wholesale you need to set up an account a be a board builder. otherwise slip me an email or PM and i can send you a retail catalougue . i dont mind jumping ship on he odd item on to swaylocks crew
afoaf Hope Branyt got headhunted and got a promotion, but that does not explain the other casualties.
If guys committed as Bryant are not there, who is supporting the gig especially when it seems the Fusion is considered great in NZ but a non event for the rest of the world.
Come on in Ron or Bryant, give us some dose of confidence that the wheels of FCS in USA have some air in the tyres.
sufthis Geeeeez yeah spulling 101 …Depends what size foot i spose. Mine is a 10E soul with a touch of tinea ,tinnyer, tinir…look, like my iintelligense they have a few problems OK?
But i do know the going rate for size 10R soles is not much, 20Rsoles even less.
fusion seems like the smartest system ever. the route is piece of piss. close tolerence fit. box is small footprint . its the fastest install ive done . looks very clean and is strong.
light , thin and strong. just a bit too expensive for my likeing.
i dont know anything about the mqaury bank tho.i cant speak for them
im just saying my fcs rep Katherine is a really nice person. shes give me a 30 day account. sends me products overnight courier and they are good useful products of high quality.
things i have are
a wet bag
4 or 5 sets of fins
7mm wetsuit booties
8ft legrope
i can buy wetsuits and boardbags from a NZ manufacturer but i cant see any point in buying fins off anyone else
Silly, Always nice to see your posts. But had to step in on your comment about “buying fins off anyone else they are mostly made in china anyway”
I have been making fins for almost 40 years and FCS is only been around for what about 15 maybe 16 years. I can appreciate your support to FCS my friend and the support you give me also, but just because companies buy there way into a industry in the last decade don’t forget the history of the ones who pioneered this industry like Bahne, Fibre Glas Fin, Rainbow and True Ames. Some of which went to China because of costs and others like my self who haven’t gone to China. But the point I am making is we are fin companies first. Not someone who started in China and then Branded themself as a Fin Company Wanna Be and people bought into it. Just a observation my friend, you can find products not made from China in the surfing industry easily if you ask and look. Surfing is not a dead industry like people make it seem. Only Newspapers and Magazines, along with corporations who pay those newspapers and magazines to tell you that. So you buy there OUTDATED and WANNA BE STUFF.
Lets be real, if you live the SURFING LIFE STYLE. There will always be artists and craftsman making surfing related products that don’t come from China. And when those products become popular, there will always be corporations and people who will copy the artists and craftsmans by getting their things done in China.
I believe if you make a good product for a good price with service, no need to worry about China. So China is not the bad guy just filling a cap that people allow, it’s your choice to buy Chinese or American Not that everything is made in China.
hey larry of course i would use your stuff if there was a good supply on demand and credit here in NZ. i do think probox is a good system as well.i dont deal with fcs, i deal with Katherine and she is a help to my business and will even buy my boards outright for her shop. no one else is prepared to do this for me
would people feel differently if fcs was buyed out by some surfers company
either way whether i use probox or fcs they are both imported to NZ. if i lived in the states i imagine i would use combination of the two
i think that people could learn from what fcd did with the fusion box
its is similar to what bert and huie and othe compsanders were making by hand at home
a small footprint box with high density foam and a close tolerence route
i had lokbox and GL laugh at me like i was some sort of stupid retard when i suggested there was a huge market for a smaller box set in high density foam.i argued for years that the futures and other similar boxes were to big and heavy and over engineered. there was definately an improvement in what bert was doing by setting the plugs into the HD foam with a wood face on it and a light glass cap. if peope missed that train, then thats not from lack of information and the market was there
