Fiberglass cloth question

Im looking at different cloth to be used on a SUP. I came across ACP composites.

This is the discription of the cloth:

6 oz. Fabric: 38" Wide "Tight Weave"

Style #7628 is woven with a higher number of yarns per inch creating a tight weave fabric. This fabric bulks up quickly and can leave a smooth finish. It is excellent for flat surface lamination.
  • Weave: 44 x 31 Plain Weave
  • Thickness: .0068”
  • Widths: 38”, 50”
Do you guys think this will work?
thanks,
Derek

yup

I've never used it, if Herb says its good, then its good.

I would think that because they specify "tight weave" and "excellent for flat surface lamination", it may not wrap around compound curves as easily as standard glass.

Thanks for the replys. I see what you mean with the tight weave. They also sell this:

5.8 oz. Fabric: 38" Wide "Loose Weave"

Style #3733 is a loose weave fabric, woven with a lower number of yarns per inch creating a more flexible fabric. This fabric is ideally suited for applications that have compound curves.
  • Weave: 24 x 14 Plain Weave
  • Thickness: .0078”
  • Widths: 38”, 50"
Im thinking this might be easier to work with. It is also $1 more per yard so im probably just better off using the standard glass offered by most suppliers.
Any sugestions on any other glass for a good price?
Derek

tight weave is a type of washing process like in "s" glass...........in other words........it's a flatter weave..............if you know how to work the flat weave glass there's nothing new here.(last week,i just did two 5-11's entirely in 4oz "s" glass)

loose weave should be cheaper in cost, but besides that it has a different washing process, much like "e" glass.
