Is it possible to use 2 layers of 6 oz cloth with 1 layer of 4 oz under the 2 6 oz cloth? And… is it possible to do the laminate and hot-coat when it is about 35* in your garage… If so great, but if not does anyone know of a good way to heat the area?
Talking deck laps, sure, no problem. Glass bottom first, cure, cut 1st 4oz to lap, and bottom 6 to rail peak, top 6 wrap.
Garage, get a heater, heat garage to minimum 60, heat resin and catalyst also.
Maybe look into UV catalyst. It kicks when exposed to UV regardless of temperature.

Would the MEKP catalyst work just as good in 40* temperature? or when heated to 60* as LeeDD said?
All of the directions I’ve seen printed on labels are as LeeDD said - minimum 60 degrees.
What do you mean when you say to wrap the top 6 oz cloth layer? To wrap it all around the board?
wrap it around the RAIL up to a few inches on the other side
Heated resin should work ok. I’ve done plenty of cold climate glassing and i know how tricky it can be. I’ve tried various things and had some quite random results with MEKP, kicking too quick, to slow or in patches. You realy need an even 60 degrees. I still find UV to be the best for me in a cold climate.

Just wondering, but can you put resin into the microwave to warm it up?
