It was one of four that Weber had me do for them.

Came across another site with a picture of an old example of curved stringers. Do these stringers usually go through from top to bottom or are they laminates on the surface? If to the bottem, the glue up must be a nightmare. Either way - beautiful work Jim. http://http://www.surfresearch.com.au/as00stringers.html

A lot of the 60’s boards were routed inlays, as are the Greg Nolls that are availible today, Gregs inlay work with Ebony stringers are AMAZING. The ones I am doing do go through the board and yes, the cutting and gluing is a bitch. One of the Weber blanks had to be cut apart twice because the glue up had gaps on the bottom of the blank. I just finished a collector board, 11’ with a 3/4" Redwood center stringer and 4 flairing Redwood curved offsets. On the first glue up attempt, I had to pull it apart as the resin was kicking while I was still brushing glue. I had to wash off the foam and stringers with acetone, broke off the tip of one of the foam flairs, had to reshape the other to match, retune the rest of the blank to accept the new pieces, then cross my fingers and reglue. Like my Dad told “the Devil hates a coward”
