FIN BASICS- DRIVE Vs PIVOT

lots of good points made on here. sounds to me like the ever present personal preference comes in a fair bit…

 

I just made a very quick set of 757 style fins for a thruster I made out of a rescued blank(ruined a funboard blank with the APS machine :frowning: … ) They are glassed on, no roving, and no-preglassing so the cloth that holds them on is straight on bare wood… and I love the feel. Fast, squirty, and easy rail to rail…

i’ll get some pics up later… but the point is, outside of aesthetics, safety, and catching kelp, more upright fins are fun!
