4a 7" is a great start and maybe a 8" for bigger surf. My 6’10 hull has a 2 + 1 set up w/ diamond tail so the side bites help w/ the wider tail but if I had a narrow gunny pin I would go single. I had a 6’9" single pin shaped (rip) that I would run a true ames normal flrex 7" fin and worked great in the pocket.
I have just finished shaping my second board. a 6’4" x 21" x 2 5/8" and I’m wondering what size fin to put in it. Its a step-up board similar to the smaller mandla hulls I have been riding. It will have quad and single fin boxes. I weigh 195. right now I’m looking at the true ames L-flex 7.5 but maybe i need to go bigger. any sugestions?
