fin placement

Hoping that I can get some good idea’s on fin placement, size and configuration.

Stinger with WPoint back is a new config, needing fins farther back also…

For small waves, 8" single with trailing edge around 9" forward of tip of swallow.

For bigger like head high to armsreach over, maybe add another inch.

You can use small 3.5 sidebiters with leading edge at wings, then needing only a 7" trailer for most waves.

Quad config with leading side set edge same spot, then trailers inside and behind, but in this case, leading fins are bigger, like 5", trailing smaller, like 4.

Toe-in set is a personal thing, as some peeps need lots of toe-in to successfully turn, while other surfers tend to turn too much even with straight set fins. I like a little toe in, like maybe pointing halfway to the stringer, but that is best on faster moving waves prolly.

Thank you for the advice LeeDD. I will probably go with a single, possibly with small bites. I am interested in quad though. How much of a gap between the 2 fins, and are they both set with the same toe in.

Thanks again,Keith
