Fin position

Im almost finished shaping this board, and i was after some advice on fins, which i have no clue about. I want to drop in 5 Probox plugs, to run it as a quad or thruster, but im not sure on toe-in, cant or positioning. Its 5’10 long, 20 inches wide and just under 3 inches thick. Its meant to be a summer board for 1-2 foot surf only, and im mainly looking for a setup for speed. I was hoping to move the rears of the quads inwards off the rail, after hearing about how foot size can change where they need to go. Also, if anyone has any suggestions on anything i can fix up before i glass it that would be awesome. Thanks for your help and sorry about the crap photos

Thought i should probably use a picture size that is actually helpful…[img_assist|nid=1046245|title=5101|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=480|height=640][img_assist|nid=1046246|title=5102|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=640|height=480]

nice looking board Mundi00. i'm liking the diamond tail.

how wide is the tail? doesn't look like a lot of rocker back there, i just finished dropping the fin boxes in something similar.

i ended up putting the rear quads close to the rail. i got the measurements from handshaper... my understanding is that on

wider tailed lower rockered boards, the quads go better on the rails. on curvier rockered narrower tailed boards, they go

better more inboard. i could be wrong but, thats the conclusion i've come to going through the archives here and looking at

a lot of boards...

i also don't really subscribe to the size of the foot thing either. but, take it for what it's worth, i've only made a couple boards

and come here to sways to learn.

if i were you, i would email Probox Larry, google McKee quad, and check back for other input on this thread, then, go with

what you think sounds good...

Yeah , what he said - or , you could PM Handshaper ( Robin Mair , of Probox) …  he might even chime in on this thread.

Can’t speak for him of course - he’s probly flat out building guns n step ups for the hawaiian winter.!

Just out of curiosity , where are you ? Looks like Central Coast  NSW ?

Bungan/Newport on Sydneys Northern Beaches, nice part of the world
