hey guys just about done with a 6’7" modern fish design, around 14.5" nose, 21" wide, almost 16" in the tail, 2.75" thick.about 4.5" nose rocker and 2.15" tail. i noticed below someone mentioned on really wide tails you may want to move the side fins inboard a touch. i’m going with a thruster(with chargers)setup and i was thinking about putting the side fins a touch closer to the rails and a little less toed in than average. this one’s for a friend who’s like 6’4", 210#(of all muscle) and surfs a lot of mediocre local beachbreak. am i wrong in thinking that side fins closer to the rail give more drive? i know less toe is one way to increase drive with fin placement but what about distance from the rail. i usually go 1.25" in and toe around .25". i was thinking of just going like an eighth inch closer to the rail and toeing em only about an eighth in order to give him more speed and drive in sloppy surf. i’ve always thought the more you spread out the fin cluster the less drag/more speed/less manuverability(sp coral?) i know this is a pretty basic question but any input helps. thx bruce
…SOMEWHERE BTWN 1" thru 1-1/8" should do it.Herb…oh yeah it will increase drive.Herb
