A friend dropped these fins off and asked what “tuning” I could do with them, like how could I make them better or faster or just customise them for his surfing style. He likes the fins, hes really happy with them but just “wants more from them”. He’s not asking me to make them into a completely different fin, but to personally customise these fins into the highest level of performance possible.
Initially I thought I could dip them in a coat of resin and then simply round out the leading edge and thin out the trailing edge, maybe increase the inside concave at the base and flatten the tip foil.
Apart from that, I could lam the leading edge in CF, change it from Futures to FCS, or just go with vertical metal internal implants from the base on up.
It’d be cheap to add an Evalon type of horizontal surface just for fun but he doesn’t want to create a new fin but wants to enhance the current outline with quicker response and turn a great set of fins into the best ever/ perfect fins just for him.
I think its like how some people buy a car, a bike or a surfboard but just need to have it customised to get the very best from it.
Are there any other fin tuners out there ?
