Finally got it right

I don’t post too often here because of my relative novice status, but I have too acknowledge my appreciation for those of you who do. I’ve shaped and glassed 7 boards now but always had trouble with the gloss for one reason or another. I screwed up my buddy’s board royal and after two days of sanding, we both got discouraged and let it sit for about two months. I started reading all the threads here on glossing and finally we got it going again. Using the comuunity knowledge gained here, I thinned a pint of gloss with about 40cc of styrene, added 20cc of catalyst, brushed it on thin in about 6 minutes, one light pass with the brush, and walked away. About three minutes later it leveled and kicked. There’s nothing more stoking than to see the wax rise to surface and shine off the reflection of the Heineken Green walls of my shaping bay. Pictures will follow after the polish. Thanks to all. Tom

Ride on!
