I have been vac bagging EPS blanks and using peel ply but i am left with a very rough finish that i have tried to fill and paint. This is very labour intensive and i was wondering if anyone has tips for finishing of vac bagged boards.
Thanks

Are you doing composites- i.e., either balsa, veneer or high density foam skins? Or are you just bagging the laminations?
When someone says they are vac bagging, I think of skins, and, if I remember correctly, even the production folks- Firewire, Sunova, etc, hand lam the outer glass (over the bagged skins). The set up time, the cost of consumables (peel ply, etc) and the finish problems makes the bagging of outer glass problematic.
I could be wrong though.
ps- someone in So Cal please put another fifty cents in the wave machine , please!
Hi dmac...
You have to trust me. What you seek was my Holy-Grail in a salary job for a time. Nobody, anywhere, is getting a board out of a vac-bag that does'nt need any sanding and filling. Its not how it works. There's no secret that you're missing.
Having said that, I have left the deck-side with the peel texture. It waxes easily but clings dirt and may disguise pin-holes.
