This board was given to me by one of the guys on the forum to paint as a wallhanger… Thanks Phil!
Here’s another board I did awhile ago
This is my longboard for small days… I did some quick flames down the sides
Anyone in the Jersey area that wants a board done, just drop me a line. I have a beat up old shortboard I’m working on making a wallhanger now, but after that I’m free. Also, if any of you shapers have a board lying around that isn’t ridable I’m always willing to take it off your hands.
I seal the paintings with Krylon Crystal Clear, but you cant’ spray too much. If it’s a wallhanger I only spay one coat. If I’m gonna surf it I spray at least 3. The coats have to be thin though or you’ll get bleeding of the colors.
i bought some posca pens yesterday to use on a micro majic carpet that im doing for a freinds son (he’s 7),it was gonna be a full spiderman paint as the young’un is nuts for spidey.
unfortunatly the father backed out of it,as so many people do, when i gave him the quote.
what sort of prices do you charge?
i quoted £100 ($ about 160) which i know is real cheap, makeing the total cost of the board £170 (criminaly cheap, but its the kids first board and getting it at christmass).
but its gonna have the rails sprayed and some pinlines…all exciteing stuff as i aint put paint on a blank as yet.im gonna mask the rails, paint em in with a brush so their streaky then do my pinline useing the tape as a guide.
Beautiful artwork. Ten an hour? That’s a bargain. I guess that’s the dilemma with being an artist. It is so hard to get paid fairly for your work. Do you ever work on hot rods or Harley’s? Mike
Nice artwork! I also us posca pens on the finish coat to produce art work here in the UK.here are some of my latest .Have loads more on my website www.surfartanddesign.co.uk.

Great stuff man! I like how you use every inch of board for your designs. Where do you get boards to paint? I have a hard time finding beat up unsurfable boards and new ones cost way too much.
I have a guy who makes them for me at retail price and then I sell them on in a local art gallery but yeah ,using a surfboard as a canvass has its problems .Most of my designs are on other peoples boards as i run a little custom art business so I just take commisions and paint on their sticks.I find doing it on boards that are too beat up to be a bit of a pain cos of all the dings and stuff sometimes mess up your line of flow.
