Is it better to finish the bottom and top before putting in the rails ? or ? any help will be greatly appreciated . Aloha & Mahalo , Cal
Matter of preference. Ideally I like to establish the rails before I finish the top & bottom. I might hit the rails once more with the sanding screen to touch it up…depends on how it looks. Lightly sand the deck with 100 grit and the moment you feel wood, plane it down. Repeat the process until foam & stringer is flush. Some like Herb go to a higher grit (like friggin’ 320), but I stay at 100 usually. http://www.huntcustoms.com
