Hey Tim and Speedneedle,
I really dig those boards, thats some interesting designing. My only question is, how do you vary the double concave deck relative to the customer(flat vs. arched feet)?

Well it’s good to know that there are a few people out there trying different stuff from the 40 odd years of PU board construction. It will definately be interesting to see if surfboards will sell succesfully as an automated design…just like skiis and snowboards. There will be no more blaming of equiptment if surfers are riding the same proven designs.
Are surfboards too much of a personal item to be automated for the masses?
I took my 6’1 firewire out in some fun 3 footers today. Impressive, especially for a board that was not custom designed for myself…
How long untill your fully operational Bert?
find the concept of concave deck interesting look to Greenoughs spoon knee boards for similar response, displacement over flotation how and when does it meet its limitations desired effect for range of waves and surfers input are all the unknown. a friend and i switched boards last year at the end of winter on a fun day ,i was riding a 7’0 tl2 he had this completely concaved decked board that he always rides when the surf is fun size, fat three feet and under.this board he has was fully concaved in the deck almost exactly like you guys are shaping its poly construction and the concave deck was due to its complete collapse due to its age.we switched boards and of course he was impressed with the feel of composites as he never rides one must say he rides Tom Parrish semi guys with mastery when the surf is good.anyway to make a long story short the more i rode his board the more i started to like it. it was so beat up it should be in the trash nothing great in design just a beater upper 7’2" thruster that he uses ,his focus is on bigger waves and his quiver of Parrishes reflects that.i found it very similar in feel as to something that Jim Richardson does at Surflight with his soft outer, cored boards gave this traction feel oh well i am all confused happy hunting for the grail. aloha…
