Hi all, this is a board i shaped lastnight at home. i set up a small bay in a spare room, made the rack last week from a diagram on the greenlight site.
i have been getting a few tools and gathering all the information i could before i started ripping into a blank.
The blank i picked up yesterday morning off my local shaper gunther,it was a southcoast foam 6"3" green ultralite.
the board i decided to try my hand at shaping was a copy of a board that had last summer which although was an awsome board to ride, sadly only lasted me 3months.
I made the template for it from 3mm ply.
After reading as many board building threads and peoples advice on this site i was scared to use anything but the planer to attempt this build and although it was a little scary at first i felt realy comfortably after a few lite passes over the bottom.
I plan on glassing this board tomorrow if the rain doesn't ruin my plans.
I will be using sunbake uv cure resin and as far as glass goes i will be doing a 6 and 4oz deck and a 4oz bottom.
I also have a set of shapers S-plugs for the fin set up (thruster)
Anyway heres a few pics of my progress so far, id love to hear what you all think and any advice anyone has would be greatly appreciated!
YEEW !
