First Board Finished!!

I just finished number 1 this morning:“The Crayola experament” It has some humps and bumps but I learned a lot. Thank to all who replied to posts, and to everyone else on here, I lurked in the archives a lot. The colors came out way darker than I intended but live and learn. In the rush I forgot a leash hole/loop so it’s got a stick on for now. I took it out today and it floats so that’s always good, it’s a 7’ 2" and I’ve never ridden anything shorter than 9 it’s a bit lively and will take some getting used to. The fin is a 9" from my old LB I’m thinking a 8.5 flex fin would do the trick, any suggestions? Thanks again - Now I have to turn the couch over and see if I have enough for another blank!

Nubee,
Cool board. I like the pin tail/full nose combo. Have fun. Mike

awesome board…some of the first i made had that pin/nose combo…sometimes (atleast for me)it takes a couple of months to figure a board out…i think thats the most fun… when you do figure it out you will kill it…they all surf .you just need to learn to surf them…nice tint to…cngrate many more to come…I would make your own fin and and get another blank …once you surf you own stuff you will never go back to somones elses…

it’s based on the Hunt 7’2’’ in the archives, well as close as I could get it. It’s the only board I have now because my LB broke last week so I hope I get it wired fairly soon…

Necessity is the mother of invention.

If it’s the only board you have, then I guarantee that you will love it!!!

VERY nice.

i’d suggest a wide base flexie fin with plenty of arc/depth.

maybe 8.5 base - 10" depth depending on what you want to feel.

i did a similar 7’3 with an fcs thruster set up a couple of years ago, and it is great fun still.

if it’s too loose, you might think about some sidebites.

very nice.

Great job !

I’m working on my first complete board right now and it’s very similar to yours!
