Hello Swaylockers-
Frequent reader, incredibly infrequent poster (read: one previous post). I posted my first board attempt previously-- about 8 months ago-- and now I am posting my reshaping/reglassing/etc. of that very board. First board redux.
Background: After shaping my first board I told myself that it road fantastically. That little foray into the power of positive thinking got me through the summer and-- and fun little surf trips up and down the California Coast. Then fall came. I soon realized (uhumm, accepted) that the board had way too much foam. And, despite trying to convince myself that “Hey, it’s your first board, just go with it,” I couldn’t help hearing from the other side of my mind suggesting, “Take it back to the backyard and take a knife to it.” So that’s what I did.
The following link shows the story. I reposted a few of the original pics to give you a look at my first attempt at a surfboard and I posted the process of recreation. It’s not exactly a rebuild, as the bottom of the board remained intact. However, hopefully the final few photos clearly show that it is quite a different board.

Tomorrow morning will be it’s maiden voyage…revisited.
Thank you swaylockers for introducing me to this freakin’ addiction.
