Just finished my first board and gotta say thanks to swaylocks for all the info, designed it on illustrator and APS 3000. My mate Jimmy helped me shape it. 7.05 x 21.5 x 2.75. spray went real well using FAS acrylic. glassing went good too (all those ding repairs paid off.)
weighs 7.71 lb with full gloss coat, just waiting for some waves now
nice board jon .im stoked for you hope it goes well it kinda looks similar to my old board which was really nice in 4 to 6 ft waves what sort of rails are they… I found stiff carbon big fins to be unreal to surf after plastic fcs fins, what do you think… what sort of fins?
rails are really high, tucked under from tail to 2/3rds up. I like a lot of volume in my boards. Currently it has G5’s which were too small for the 6’10" that i adjusted the shape of this board off of. I made up some big twin fin fins with a trailer fin, which worked great on that board (6’10" fish) ive pulled the tail in a good 3/4" on this board so im hoping that with less tail area I can get away with smaller fins. i do have some mick Fannings on the way though in case i need more traction!
