Overall l’m pretty happy (the proof will be in the surfing) for a first go
had a few issues along the way but nothing too major. It took a lot longer than expected due to only being able to shape it after work hours but l learnt heaps & can’t wait to start another one.
Special thanks to the following:
Steve Pirsch - For his building a surfboard bible
Ben (aka Chip) - For the keel templates & advise along the way
Bert Burger - For the step by step ply fin rundown (worked a treat)
Cam (thefishexp) - For letting me use his template & replying to
all my questions promptly & covering all that l asked.
Ray Bella (soon to be member)
For picking up the blank, lending me tools, his shed, his time & helping me glass the board - but most of all for the cold beers at the end of the day!
Thanks to everyone else on this site for sharing some of their intermost secrets & techniques, without you l probably would never attempted it.
Couldn’t agree more with you about what a great site this is and how generous everyone is with their knowledge. “Fishy” looks like a good thing for Blacknose - how often does it break as per your photo.
