First real ride last night

hi. i have finished my first fish finally after along period of working and opening a new studio.

dont know if some of you remember the blue fish with the big tibetan eye painted on it…its probably

like a year ago…so it was glassed and all missing was the top coat of epoxy…but as impatient as i were

i took it with me just to test it and so i waxed it too…not smart…ashamed of myself…then i figured id have

to clean it like hell, but there seemed to be a film of wax there nomatter so i decided to cover that with another

coat of paint…pink covers really good…its acrylic paint done with brush…it worked…the bottom top coat went

fine, but as i did the deck i now know the brush was contaminated so i come down the day after and the deck was

looking like a moonlandscape…NO!..ok so i just went and bought a new brush. Being the bumps werent too deep i

figured i could do a new coat ontop…that worked too, but you clearly see the moon in there though…i dont really care

at this point, cuz i realize all my mistakes and i wanted to get the board ready for the autumn swells…

anyways i got to try it yesterday…we did our 2 hour drive and was abit bummed when we saw mostly weak waves

coming in, with the odd shoulder high one with abit of push…but as it was almost getting too dark, it was cloudy and

so it got a bit darker than normal, in comes a ok set and i caught a nice rigth and i just fly down the shoulder and when

i go for the bottom turn its like i dont have to use the usual amount of pressure - it just reacts like hell…really skatey…

so on this small wave i do more turns than i have ever done…its so sensitive i could not believe it…i find this great…

im in love with my pink board…it flies…THANK YOU STEVE LIS, THANKS TO ALL SWAYLOCKERS ON HERE FOR THE

RESOURCES.

some of the dudes in the water was taunting me cuz of the color…what do i care…like P.T said…real men wear pink!

…that’s GREAT mate !

and I love the P.T. quote , that’s classic !!

so …just to refresh our minds …what SIZE is that board , please …and do you have a shot of the fins for me , too ?

cheers !

ben

oh , yeah …I like the Rick Griffinish artwork too, by the way !

hi chip,

the board is based on the lis fish…5`5"…rocker 3" in nose and 1" in tail.

widest point forward and about 21"…if i remember correctly trailing finbase 5" up

from pins…flat bottom…and heres a picture of the fins for you chip…

That fish is really good

Do you have a rocker shot?

And how thick? And your bodily dimension?

Thickness around the 3" mark…im 171 cm tall and my weight i guess is as always abit up and down, but approx. 80 kg…so yes

theres about 10 kilos that need to go…

took awhile to understand how to paddle or lay while paddling, its kinda weird compared to other boards ive been on…but

im starting to dig this board and its no joke these sort of fishes fly…no rocker pic as of now, but will post tomorrow…

awesome board! love the colour~!
