Hey Guys, i need some help! i’am on the way to shape my first surfboard! and i want also to shape my own fins!
The board is a bright fish with a low rockerline (nose and tail) size. 6’1.
I want to install twin fins!
Have somebody an advice concerning the sizes!
i have found some example sizes! But i dont know, which size is the base width and which size the height!
here are the sizes drawn on a paper, the fins are looking very large! Is it ok? or are the to large?

Your keel fin outline is looking good. It’s not too big. You might even want to go a bit bigger. Here is a Keel fin template to check out for reference.

Is it possible to shape these big fins for fcs plugs? or are they to big?
have you got a template for a fin similar to these one on that picture? I guess its not a classic old school keel fin or!?

I have tried to draw some new templates because the old school keel fins were to large for the board, could somebody check my new templates!
Just make them!

OK, thank you! What ist about thickness, i have tryed to search something about it, but without any success!
just take 6mm plywood (sperrholz) (am besten pappelsperrholz das ist sehr weich und lässt sich am einfachsten schleifen)

P.S. Hast du ein Tipp bezüglich der Dicke! Wie die Finnen aussehen sollen? Hast du schon den Kleber ausprobiert!?

I would use Brians template or the first one.
For the thickness look in the thread “thick fins vs. thin fins”
(für die Finnen würd ich 6 oder 8mm multiplex nehmen, ist genauso einfach zu bearbeiten, aber sieht nachher schicker aus. was machst du jetzt mit dem design? wirds ein schachbrett?)

jep der kleber ( standart bauschaum) funktioniert bisher super, nur die farbe ist halt nicht weiss…
