Fellow englishman! check on ebay! you’ll be surprised at the balsa you can get.

I also have my first hollow under construction using a rail method similar to yours. I’ve only just started though. Seeing yours is a great encouragement.
Mine will be a little different to yours in shape though - 6’8" Twin Fin Lazor Zap.
