fish design help / suggestions?

OK,

i playing around with the aps3000 software to design a lis style fish.

I think i have the outline and rocker ok, but i wouldnt mind some feedback from the experts here.

I would also like to know what type of rails are best suited to these boards?

do the traditional style rails from the 70s work best or do more current rails work better?

how far up should the hard edge be (if any)?

i plan to surf it on a right hand point break thats near by (forehand for me).

any suggestions or comments would be much appreciated.

thanks,

scot

I think most people are putting current rails on them.

You could pick up the blue ref point on the top of your nose to make the nose a bit more beaked, but that all looks good.

How did you put the fin lines on the PDF?

I like retro fishes to be as close to the real deal as possible, so I go with down rails for the most part…fading into 50/50 in the nose. So the rail apex, as you go from nose to tail, starts out in the middle, then gradually rolls down to a 70/30 after about the first 16 inches. I hold that rail all the way through, and start giving it a hard, slightly tucked under edge about 7 or 8 inches ahead of the leading edge of the fins.

janklow,

thanks for the feedback. i fixed up the nose and it looks a lot better.

i think the fins come out because i put the measurements in the for them and ticked the Show Fins box. pretty sure that was it.

thanks,
