I do. Actually, yeah, a fair number of people here do. Should we not?
Are you serious about that shape? Have you ever ridden a “telephone pole,” as you call it?
How often do you get to go out?

I “get to go out” about 6 days a week. I work about 10 hours a week, usually.
Problem is, I only CARE to go out when it’s good, and the last string of TOH-DOH, for the last 2 weeks, my medial collateral not only left knee, but also right, is acting up.
But lucky for me, I’ve already learned how to surf. Don’t need to practice or stay in tune, for good waves DOH sizing or smaller. You see, I’ve already spent my 15 years surfing 6 days a week.
Enough me, the theory on tube is that it rolls over onto an edge easily, making for low pressure turns, and the rounded bottom is smoother riding than any other shape. So there you have it, the idea cross section for a surfboard designed for riding lousy, bumpy, backwashed, tidewashed waves.
Me, I like glassy conditions or offshore winds, so a flat decked, thick downrailed narrow semi gun with a flat to slight V bottom can handle 80% of the days we get that are good.
Unfortunately, it’s pretty much acknowledged that our season is all of two month long, sometime between Oct-Jan, but when? This season, it was Oct pre rain, then just around Christmas, producing more than 25 days of offshore winds and surf in the 1.5-TOH sizing.
Surf is close to being over now, unless I want to go out in kook filled 3-5’ garbage.
