I weigh around 195lb and was wondering what size fish I would make. My normal shortboards range from 6 foot 7 inch to 6 foot 10 inch. Thanks, Herb Bean
Hey Herb I’m in exact same position you are. Weigh 180 tho… Am using a Clark 6’2" C blank to make a 6’1" or 6’2" fish. This blank shoud be fine. If you look at hte clark catalogue you’ll see that this blank has more foam than nearly every other blank up to 7’3R. Can’t wait till mine is finished. Brian (Ireland)
Sounds about right. I have a 6’2" that is a little hard to paddle sometimes (inr eally choppy condiditons) but other wise is very fun. I’m 6’ 195lbs
just finished the deck paint on my first fish, easily one of the most beautiful boards to come out of my backyard. I made it from the 7’0" R , its 6’ long, 15" nose , 19 1/2 " wide point, 14" tail, dims borrowed from ncgyver (thanks!) it has almost 2 inches of rocker in the front, and 1 1/2 in the tail. fins come in fri/sat. cant wait to post some pics!
Fluffy, Cool! Let me know how it rides and I’d love to see pictures when it’s done. I just finished 3 more for some people who are going to nicaragua and they each wanted a “Manx” ( my fish hybrid) cause they liked the way mine performed. pics send pics!! http://www.soulsurfertv.com
Check out the 6’9"A blank. I just finished shaping a Twin fin Fish and a MiniMal design from this blank. Lots of foam to work with for us bigger guys. CR
Try to posts your pics. I am excited to see them - especially after hearing about them. Looking through the pics sections is so inspiring. Herb Bean
Hey all, just a quick question about the painted zebra board. is that the style name or is it painted zebra? just wondering because i’ve heard that zebra striping is supposed to deter sharks. something to do with poisonous fish being zebra striped(lion fish, sea snake). just wondering after looking at the shark attack pics link from paul jensen’s site. freaky stuff. i don’t know if the stripes really help or they just look cool.
LeftCoast, the board is actually painted in zebra stripes. I’ve seen the stickers you can place on your board that supposedly looks like a bundle of poisionous sea snakes, but the board came out so wide and thick, i couldnt help but think of a zebra. I’m glassing today and will post pics soon.
