well I just want to share my awsome experience with my new fish.
it’s been about ten years that i’m thinking of having a fish.
no one here rides them so I didn’t have any opportunity to see what it’s like.
when I started shaping I swore I’m not going to buy a board ever again
three weeks ago we got a 5’9 quad retro looking fish to the surf shop ( where I work) and it was a love from first sight so I offered my boss to give 3 used boards and take that lovely fish instead. he said YES and since that day my life changed.
it’s damn fast, radical and catches waves like %*(!&@^…
I’m 180cm and 82kg , never thought of a 5’9
now I understand I can even ride on a 5’4 and it would be
better than a 6’2 shortboard.
my fish is 5’9x20.5"x2.5"…it floats me like a 7’4,
so if you’re reading this and never tried a small chunky borad, STOP WAISTING YOUR TIME ON A SHORTBOARD!!!
I agree. I think i am addicted to my fish. I dinged it the other day, and i purposely didn’t fix it so i would be forced to ride another new board i’ve recently finished. It went good, and was fun, but as soon as i got home i fixed the fish. Took it out this morning and just felt right, and had sooo much fun. They have a great feel, which is what its all about i believe.
the board has full length V bottom and channels between the fins
also the deck has some kind of channels right above the rails…dont know if it’s just for the beauty of it or to reduce volume from the deck and keeping full rails…
anyway, it’s really comfortable when I grab the rails to pop-up.
