what size kane garden fish should a 180 lb. good surfer get?
Yerba,
Give them a call and they will tell you. Mike.
i would recomend something at least like 6’6x22x3. kane garden has a lot of different fishes in lots of different sizes.
I’m 5’10" around 185ish and I ride a 5’8".

I’m 5’9" 180#. I have a 6’4" twinzer feels big except in small waves. I also have a 6’0" keel fin that feels good in everything, but I could probably go smaller. Both excellent boards.
wow, you guys are riding huge fish. for optimum fish performance i have found shortest, widest, thinnest fish are the best. quads, twinzers, and twins are more versatile then keels too. im 160 and if i were getting another fish id go aorund 5’4" x 2.5" x 23". at 180 id try a 5’10" x 2.5" if your outta shape and a 5’6" x 2.5" if your paddling good. youll shoot yourself if you go too big.
yeah, i agree. my understanding is that your fish should be 4-6 inches shorter than your regular board. Your regular board being the same or 2 inches taller than you. I am 6’2" i ride a 6’4" and my fish is 5’10". Works great for me.

Yerba,
Are you confused what to get yet, haha? I think the best advisement is 4-6 smaller than your favorite shortboard. Adjust between those numbers on personal preferences, such as; your skill level, the waves you usually surf, float/paddling effort wanted, cold/warm water, etc.
Best,

I’m 5 9 and about 180 . The magic number for me is 5 10" . I like how my Brom Keel rides better than My KG Twinzer for the waves around here (New England). MDM
