Five More Horans

This is a 6’1’’

It would be nice if someone didn’t make a mistake and move this thread into In Memoriam.

This board will be a Demo at Icons of Surf.

6’0’’ Double Ender

8’0’’ A bit of a diffrent shape in the line. More pulled tail.

6’6’’ Neo Zap

6’1’’ Neo Zap

Suprise…thats five.

My goof…

I was attempting to move it to The Marketplace Forum, and I hit the wrong button and I couldn’t undo it…Sorry…

Perhaps you might want to post your announcement there…

Paul

The rules of Swaylock’s Surfboard Design Forum are pretty simple.

The rules are:

  1. No personal attacks.

  2. Stick to the topics of the various forums.

  3. Please NO advertising in The General Discussion.

  4. Please keep things you want to sell, promote, advertise etc, in the classifieds or the Marketplace Forum.

i think its sits perfectly well here

How about the lokbox thread promoting their have a go day? I have no problem with that BTW…but I don’t think this is at all out of the norm. I don’t think what Lokbox is doing is out of the norm either. How is it different than the Twin fin thread or any of the other surfboard threads?? None of those are out of the norm. I am not selling these boards…they are already sold. Hey…Paul…if showing Surfboards on the General Discussion and mentioning where you can see them is advertising or promoting…your going to have to move alot of threads. Also…How about a little common courtesy and giving a pm before moving something. If the words are all that needs changing thats usually an easy fix. I am not a newbie here.

Sorry about that…Really…

The original subject line drew me in…Something like “Horan at Icons of Surf”…I thought cool, Cheyne’s doing an in person…Then there was just board pic’s no text…Hmmm…

Seemed like an ad or an announcement that new boards were in stock or they were for sale…Not the thing for the General Discussion…The lack of text threw me…If I’m remembering correctly… You’ve (I’m presuming) deleted the original, so I couldn’t absolutely verify what exactly you posted…I wouldn’t have moved it if it was as you have it posted now…

I don’t read every thread, so I don’t know what’s in the right place…I saw what you posted and was trying to put it where Mike wants that kind of stuff, and I hit the wrong button…

Again, I’m sorry…

I still think it doesn’t fit the description of what’s supposed to be in the General Discussion Forum…I’m just trying to keep the rules the same for everyone, but as I said, I don’t read every thread…

Paul

The neo zaps and the double ender look like something I would like to try. The first board looks odd and out of proportion to my ‘eye.’ Thanks for sharing. Very interesting designs. They look user friendly. Boards that would paddle fast and get up to plane speed quick. How thick is the 6-6 neo zap? PU/PE construction? Mike

Hi Rooster,

The first board is pretty much a nugget. The Neo zap is 3’’ thick. These are all poly. Polished and the 6’6’’ is tinted. The rest are airbrushed. Yes…these should paddle fast and should be snappy in the pocket. The zappers are more for surfers looking for short arcs and quick turning in general.

Solo, Love that Neo Zap. Mahalo, Larry

Ok, this is what I thought first go around:

Classic, I’m loving the resin work and that 6’1" red & black one looks epic. Nice 5 finner too.

but now I’m realizing the 6’1" is a demo board no less. Stoked. You should do some opaque red & black spitfire fins too.

Here is a shot of the shaper Tim Stamps which gives you a really good perspective of the volume of these boards. Tim does exellent work. I think he weighs about a buck fifty.

San Clemente: http://www.iconsofsurf.com/

The owner is a guy named Ken who really knows his boards. Its an old school shop - a few t-shirts & boardshorts, but its mostly all surfboards. Probably 500 boards in about 700 square feet.

It’s not really my nature to do these anyway but direct…but because I deal with alot of Californians and Icons is just as described…a surf shop about surfboards of high quality owned by a guy who has alot of knowledge about boards…It’s a good fit. There are a few other surf shops I would deal with also. The quality of boards Ken carries in his store and the amount of them speaks for itself. In my opinion…it’s what Surf shops should have always looked like from the begining prior to there having to be a surfer look.
